Hello, Wisconsin!

18 episodes in and we're as shocked as anyone that we're still around. This is our first season finale, so we go out in style with Mike D'Angelo who explained to us, on the eve of The Dark Knight's release, why Christopher Nolan may be the best director alive. Of course, Keith would later dislike the film and many others would hop on the whole "omg so serious?! why!!" bandwagon. Personally, I found TDK to be better than the Watchmen trailer.

But we also delve into the world of super secret film chat groups, the Levels of Film Criticism, the many wonders of Meet Dave, and more—
ok, not much more—in Episode 18: "This Podcast Gets a 48."

And with that, we're out until early September! Vadim is going to take up knitting; Keith has begun working on showtunes about Mulder/Scully slash-fiction; and I've decided to make bacon for dinner. Join us when we come back for Ep. 19 in Season Two, which'll be our super-massive, overly gigantic look back at the summer that was.

Special thanks again to Mike D'Angelo for coming out, and remember, if you ever see Vadim or myself at the bar, buy us a drink! Or else hire us to be your ghost-writers. We're new media certified. (JL)

For the record, the comparison of Nolan to Hitchcock (which I had to look up when I got home since I really did have no idea what Keith and the others were talking about) had nothing to do with their respective skill sets. I was just covering my ass for calling Nolan an American director when he's technically British, and used Hitch as a similar example.

Also, I apologize again for bringing up...well, you'll hear.

The Futurist! would have given this podcast a 51.

That makes us (for this year) U23D, Raoul Walsh's The Thief Of Bagdad, The Misfits, and one point better than Blake Edwards' S.O.B.. Go Team Grassroots!

THE FUTURIST! loves you Vadim (mostly because you mentioned Blake Edwards), Keith and, perhaps, John Lichman a bit more. It's going to be hard not being able to listen to the podcast for 3 weeks and stay dry. (alcohol wise, that is.)
